Kia Optima: Disarmed stage
The alarm will be deactivated when:
- The “
” button on the transmitter
is pressed. - The ignition switch is in the “ON” position for 30 seconds or more.
- Unlock or lock the doors with the transmitter or ignition key.
✽ NOTICE
If the ignition key is in the ignition switch, the transmitter will not function. Avoid trying to start the engine with the alarm activated.

When the alarm is armed, the alarm will not sound if the trunk lid is opened
with either the key or the transmitter.
